When Mahla from The Eventeur first told us about Jessica and Brian’s destination wedding at the Blue Venado in Playa del Carmen, Mexico we just knew we had to be there to capture it. The vision was a full immersion into vibrant Mexican aesthetics: bright pinks, corals, reds, and purples. Decorative ceramic skullheads. Lush florals everywhere. And of course, a ceremony overlooking the ocean at sunset. Before leaving Toronto, we were all anxiously checking the weather as thunderstorms were forecast for the entire week. I packed and re-packed my suitcase about 6 times. We were all sure a week-long torrential downpour was coming our way and we’d have to come up with a plan B. And yet…somehow…the weather taught us a big lesson about life that day. Sometimes when you expect the worst, the best actually happens. There was no torrential downpour. There were a few picturesque clouds in the sky, and in the early morning they may have even shed a raindrop or two. However the day was gorgeous. The week was gorgeous. And the wedding was more beautiful than I could have imagined.
