The holidays are a beautiful time of year, but this time can also feel overwhelming with demands of more and more and more. In light of this, we partnered with Amy Carillo, the creative director of Love on Sunday to approach the holidays from a perspective of quality, not quantity taking a minimal yet modern approach. Yoga Yoga‘s multi-purpose event space was the perfect setting for our re-imagined holiday fête.

We really connected with Amy over her love of natural and handmade goods and we really wanted to shine a light on some amazing local vendors. The result is a relaxed tablesetting filled with texture. Set against the beautiful white backdrop of Yoga Yoga Studio in the Junction, we partnered with Cinq Foods for artisanal-style catering, Urban Gardener  for a great selection greenery as well as Green Light District and Coolican & Company for the furniture.

The Edwin Chair by Coolican & Company is made of solid Ontario white oak with a black oil finish. Both comfortable and sturdy, this piece is timeless. The geometric wood planter from Rong Designs is made of reclaimed cedar, the light blue carved porcelain sphere planter is from artist Karolina-Anna Hajna and the small up cycled jars are from Dogwood Urban Farm.

And because we wanted to show that minimal doesn’t need to be boring, we partnered with Toronto’s online store Curriculum Shop. Nicki, the creative director behind the brand has curated  a delightful mix of the  unusual and the sexy, which adds the perfect touch for a hostess who is reinventing the holidays.
